Along with the identity design, Konnichiwa worked with Heps to plan and design an interior. We planned the design of the café from when the building was in it’s early construction working on it until the final opening day in April 2016.
The interior was presented as two mood boards initially to the client using slightly different furniture options, with the final mood board choosing a warmer design with wooden furniture that was a mixture of off the shelf items as well as bespoke tables built using a carpenter from South Wales. The same carpenter also built the servery, where we liaised with the appliance supplier to make sure everything fitted.
In addition to the furniture we organised contractors to paint the walls, fit commercial grade flooring, install the lighting and fit the graphics.
